I would like to say I could help you and 100% give you the correct answer. But I can't figure it out. Sorry :/ @johnweldon1993 may be able to help?

OpenStudy (johnweldon1993):

So we have a system of equations \[\large 5x + 2y = 14\] \[\large y = -x + 5\] If we substitute the second equation into the first one...we get \[\large 5x + 2(-x + 5) = 14\] \[\large 5x - 2x + 10 = 14\] \[\large 3x + 10 = 14\] \[\large 3x = 4\] \[\large x = ?\] Then using that 'x' solve for 'y' in one of the original equations
