What is the value of the function at x=−2 https://gyazo.com/a6b7b67451f7ccfd0d22eb63c9dc804e
There are two ways that you can do this: (1) Look at the graph and then match out where the line crosses x=-2. (2) For an accurate result, write out the equation of the line and then substitute -2 for where x is.
what's the equation of the line?
Do you know the slope-intercept form, point-slope form, standard form, etc?
mx + b is slope right?
slope-intercept
i dont know the other ones
Slope-intercept form will work. And yes, it is y=mx+b.
I, first, suggest for you to pick out two points (coordinates with whole numbers) that are on the line. Using that, find the slope: \[m = \frac{ y_2 - y_1 }{ x_2 - x_1 }\]
im confused
Where are you confused at?
If you are not able to tell me where exactly you are confused at, I will not be able to explain this concept properly to you. I need your full cooperation.
sorry!
I don't understand how to put it on that thing. like i think it crosses at y 1 and x 1
