KjSaif (kjsaif):

How would i solve unit rate on a proportional graph? Question below! :)

KjSaif (kjsaif):

KjSaif (kjsaif):

I'm don't know how :) could you teach me?

OpenStudy (3mar):

WHat y and x-axes represent?

OpenStudy (3mar):

The rate is always represented by the slope of the graph, which here is a straight line, so the slope could be determined bt the two point plotted on the line.

OpenStudy (3mar):

Do you follow?

OpenStudy (3mar):

@KJSaif

OpenStudy (davejavous):

At a guess, youre probably asking about the gradient of the line: How many times bigger or smaller is y compared to x. We use the equation: \[gradient = \frac{\Delta y}{\Delta x} \] The triangle is the greek letter delta, which stands for "change". The change in y is from 0 to 18, which is 18 the change in x is from 0 to 4, which is 4 Therefore the gradient is 18/4 = 4.5
