OpenStudy (pizzamaker36):

Which line is a graph of the equation x = –6? line c line b line a line d

OpenStudy (pizzamaker36):

OpenStudy (3mar):

May I help?

OpenStudy (pizzamaker36):

sure :)

OpenStudy (mhchen):

If x=-6, then it's a vertical line, up and down, on the -6 number in the x-axis. Which line seems to do that?

OpenStudy (3mar):

Thanks

OpenStudy (pizzamaker36):

the line on the left??

OpenStudy (3mar):

You said x=-6 so does this value change with respect to y-value changes?

OpenStudy (3mar):

@pizzamaker36

OpenStudy (pizzamaker36):

i think so?

OpenStudy (3mar):

think what

OpenStudy (3mar):

@pizzamaker36

OpenStudy (davejavous):

The line x=-6 means all of the points on that line have the x coordinate of -6 What line will have the x coordinate of -6?

OpenStudy (3mar):

which means that this value does not change with respect to y-value changes

OpenStudy (davejavous):

You're over complicating the situation. y values are irrelevant to think about. All that needs to be found is the line that will have points on it with (-6, y) as a coordinate

OpenStudy (3mar):

It is so simple. X does not changes from -6 whatever y changes So it is x=-6 forever Done!

OpenStudy (davejavous):

The question is, what line on the graph is x=-6 The one with coordinates (-6, something) !
