WILL MEDAL AND FAN Calculate the area of the rectangle when a = 4 and b = 2. Next, calculate the area when the length and width are doubled. Does the area double? What is the ratio of the two areas you calculated? A) NO; 1:4 B) YES; 1:4 C) NO; 1:2 D) YES; 1:2

OpenStudy (phi):

what did you get for the area of the rectangle ? (I assume a and b are the width and length)

OpenStudy (kalebj):

why thank u again phi LOL

OpenStudy (kalebj):

8??

OpenStudy (phi):

ok now what do you get for a and b when you double each one ? then find the new area ?

OpenStudy (kalebj):

16

OpenStudy (kalebj):

or is it 32?

OpenStudy (phi):

That is why I asked the question in two parts. they say Next, calculate the area when the length and width are doubled. first, what do you get for a and b after you double each one ?

OpenStudy (kalebj):

8 and 4

OpenStudy (phi):

now find the area length*width you get 8*4 = 32

OpenStudy (phi):

so the original area is 8 and the new area is 32 did the area double (i.e. go from 8 to 16 ?) I assume the answer is obvious ?

OpenStudy (kalebj):

yes \

OpenStudy (kalebj):

likeabossssssss ill fan u if u just give me the answer
