Hey guys I have a PSAT tomorrow and I'm looking for some advice... anyone?
omg me 2
just pray and hope you pass the thing
Haha we can ace it(?) together @Taylor0402
Haha seems legit! @Taylor0402
wait what school do you go to mine doesnt count for a grade we just have to take it
No school counts it for a grade. I hope you've studied the grammar rules. Pay attention to the math questions cuz they try to trick you.
My friend took it this past Saturday and said it was cake. He excels heavily at Mathematics though ;p
Oh dang I am screwed guys haha @ShadowLegendX @mhchen
I would agree with @Mhchen and look into rules of grammar. You may come across questions asking you to properly word things, using the correct punctuation such as colons, commas and semicolons.
I have been in your position before, honestly, just take a second to step back and breath, and study as best you can.
After you've finished, you'll know what you missed and be able to take the next PSAT or take the SAT better. That's what it's for.
That is a good point @ShadowLegendX
yea i really shouldn't be taking it as a freshman but they want us to prepare for when the test really counts
Just go over Subject-Verb agreement and tenses. Tenses like past, past-perfect, imperative, future, conditional, and helping verb (have) with past particples. Also parallelism is SAT's favorite
Independent and Dependent clauses are a big one as well. That just relates to the subject-verb thing though.
So yeah, know the punctuation that separates the clauses
And the positive/negative tone of transition words. Remember there can't be 2 negatives in a sentence.
To be honest, especially if you know you aren't going to be getting the greatest grades throughout highschool, or you're homeschooled, I would heavily study/prepare for the SATs and take PSATs when you can. @Taylor0402 Even if you're a freshman
Oh dang a lot to remember haha
It's a lot but it's like simple if/else and I'd like to think of it as 'addition' with words
That is a really good way to think about it @mhchen
pls don't forget #2 pencil
If you can, do the easier-for-you problems first, and come back to the harder ones if you find you have time left. Double check to ensure that you have understood each question and have provided a suitable answer to that question.
