Two gift shops sell postcards. Each gift shop charges a fixed amount per postcard. The prices, in cents, for different numbers of postcards at the first gift shop are shown in the table below.
The price per postcard at the second gift shop is 6 cents less than the price per postcard at the first gift shop. Which table shows the correct price for a certain number of postcards at the second gift shop? (M06.A-R.1.1.2, M06.A-R.1.1.3) (DOK = 3)
Here are the answer choices -
okay
They are 30 cents per post card at gift shop 1
ok
i get it you multiplied it by 30
To get that, I divided how much it cost for the post cards, by the number of post cards being purchased. For example I purchase 4 postcards for 120 cents. So I divided 120 by 4 to get 30
Therefore it is 30 cents.
so it has to be c 9x30=270
Do the same for each answer choice,
i did
the rest didn't match
Hold on let me see what you're doing here. Remember the question says "Gift shop 2 cost 6 cents less"
6 cents LESS per post card
oh yes
30-6=24
Option C is the equivalent of gift shop 1.
Yes.
so is it 8x24=192?
Yes :-) good job.
