If anyone is willing to proof read my paper, it would be great, thank you! Reflection on 'A Short History of Progress' I think a specific example of 'progress trap' in our society is 'connectivity and information'. As it was discussed during the lecture, a small bang can be used for good, a big bang can be used for bad. There could be dire consequences for the steps being taken right now. Steps that further try to increase the connectivity of the world. As discussed in the lecture, when the capability of progress increases, the reasons to do something could go from being need to greed. Social Media avenues have provided people these days the outlets to freely express them self, and an ability to communicate on a global scale. One must consider the implications of the power each individual has been given as a result of this connectivity. One must also consider the power of the domain that supports this connectivity. The technology of our age advances at an exponential rate. The precautions and groundwork that should be laid in societies, and the moral implications that need to be considered, lag behind where they should be. So far in general, if you consider the effects of a population in a city, their actions can be regulated with the current laws set in place. There are already many laws set by the government and state to help control and maintain order to the natural way of life. When a new mode of transportation or when a new public service is introduced, then only a few extra laws or rules might have to be implemented to facilitate the proper use of this outlet. However, when you see the cyber world, the rate at which it's advancing, the rate at which the capability of people in this platform increases, it's hard to imagine any sort of regulation on it. This is a good example of an issue with social sustainability. The rate at which technology and cyber platforms facilitate global connectivity far surpasses the rate at which it is being regulated in regards to by-laws. At this rate, there could be many cases of the infringement of law that go unnoticed or even worse, they cannot be prevented and accounted for. There are so many 'small scale' cyber crimes and cases of privacy breaches in this day and age, that the government turns a blind eye to. On top of the cyber crimes, we are not aware of the full implications of all the micro societies being formed on different social platforms. We need to understand what kind of culture it is promoting, especially when we live in such a culture driven society as discussed in the lecture. It is hard to suggest ways to avoid this progress trap without sounding far fetched. Our society has become so accustomed to these privileges and the freedoms they are given, that to think they can be controlled on their 'free' avenue of expression, they would be outraged. The reality is this is on the verge of being a progress trap, if not already. The youth of our generation is exposed to more harmful material on a daily basis, than what previous generations have experienced over a lifetime. The unfettered, unrestricted access of information and connectivity, poses all kinds of threats to the innocence and the development of children. A little can be good, but too much can be bad. When there is too much freedom on the content a person can post, the content a person can share to thousands and millions of people at any given time, it can lead to other freedoms being lost. The Canadian charter of rights section 2, 'Fundamental Freedoms', freedom of speech, freedom of religion, freedom of though, freedom of belief, etc. One person's freedom is sometimes a violation of many others' freedom. One persons ability to post condemning content that effects a group or a society to behave in harmful ways either socially, environmentally or economically, can assault the freedom of many other groups and societies. However drastic these solutions may sound, it is necessary to put restrictions on the type of content people can post with respect to the cites they are at. Though most cites claim, they have all sorts of privacy laws and terms and conditions that the user must adhere to, the problem is with their ability to enforce them. The number of people that use the site vs the number of people to administer the technical side does not match up. Technical jobs should increase. More emphasis and incentive for information security and information technology experts should be pushed for. A domain which is about to be made available or promoted to the public must have some kind of accountability to some kind of an online federation and receive authorization to become public. Just like there is some order imposed by a government to countries, there should be a government imposed on the cyber world, however absurd it may sound, and how ever impractical. Research should be put towards these goals. More jobs into algorithmic programming, that is able to better categorize the information being put out to help shield or prepare the user for the content and the people they are about to face on any form of online connectivity.
I think it's great with just enough details to get a good grade :)
you need to add spaces at the front of each paragraph and the intro and conclusion need to be shorter than the body as a whole but besides that it's great
Indent!
It is written well. But I was wondering why don't you ask someone to proofread it? That's great if you have friends or your parents can do this. Otherwise, you can ask supreme essay guys to help you. They simply save my time.

I corrected a few grammar mistakes and took out a few things from the introduction. Since I was not at your lecture ( XD ), I'm not quite sure what you mean by big bang and small bang but what i understood from it, I used.

For the third paragraph, you cannot start the paragraph with " this is a good example....." you have to state the topic of the paragraph from the go. You could say " As I mentioned in the second paragraph, the cyber world...."
at times you speak formally with the reader then speak as if you are old friends with them. You have to figure out if you will be formal or not and include yourself in the conversation or not. For example " So far in general, if you consider the effects of a population in a city, their actions can be regulated with the current laws set in place. " in this sentence you say "you" only mentioning the reader but in other parts of your essay, you say we including yourself with the people you mention.
