In order to protect national security, should law enforcement be allowed to single out specific groups for increase scrutiny? Problem/Solutions??
In a sense this goes into the causes of what we see as racial profiling. for instance if you were to look at a group of Muslims what do you see, some see regular people with certain beliefs, others see terrorists. Its all just a matter of how people are viewed and seen. So one bad person in that certain group of people sets off from all the good in that group of people. We as humans tend to see the bad instead of the good which in turn leads to false accusations towards another human being. Which leads into racial tensions and conflict. (So to restate the question to protect national security law enforcement should not be allowed to single out a certain religion, and or race because of the way they look or think). in better circumstances its best to not target specific groups but to obtain the right information to make an accusation about a specific person and what they've done to threaten national security. Don't always judge a book by its cover
if that helps
Are you alluding to so called "Radical Muslims" ?
yes and more
What other groups?
We have to make a disclaimer that everything is a matter of opinion, but to be most objective, we are too politically correct to say anything! (I can "prove" this)
Makes more sense that what i gave.
Well, if you want an "opinion feedback" (before I depart to play ball)
ill be leaving shortly as well but what do you got
The official political view in the US is that everyone is equal, and we would all agree that this the case (at least, political institutions claim this is the case). But is this indeed so?? Disclaimer: I have no means to insult any member of any religion/race/sexual orientation or belonging to any other classification. (1) EXAMPLE: You might have heard of a cake-maker that imprisoned. Reason: Refused to make a cake for a gay couple that was getting married. (Would the punishment be same for heterosexual couple? I doubt that!!) (2) If a wife makes a call that husband beats her, husband goes to jail. (But, if husband beats wife, than we say that he is so evil that he has outraged his wife so much that she beats him. ... And no I'm serious!) (3) Why do scholarships for "non-traditional" sexual orientations exist?? (Why is sexual orientation a criteria? Isn't everyone equal? Apparently not!)
Also, religion based, and race-based scholarships .... why??
if you think the person was infringed, then examine each case specifically!
