Please help.

All you have to do is move the decimal place to the right 4 times (if the 4 was negative, the decimal would be moved to the left): 1.56 x 10^4 = 15,600 So 1.56 x 10^4 in standard notation is 15,600 s.

OpenStudy (xxstudyingstuffxx):

Ok. How would I make that in hours?

OpenStudy (sushi121212):

If s=seconds, then there are 60 seconds in one hour. All you have to do is divide the number you got by 60: 15,600/60 = 260 hours. The answer would be 260 hours.

OpenStudy (xxstudyingstuffxx):

Wouldn't that be 260 minutes, not hours.

OpenStudy (sushi121212):

Oh, right, sorry. Then just divide it by 60 again: 260/60 = 4.33 hours or \[\frac{ 13 }{ 3 }\] hours I don't know if your teacher wants it in decimal or fraction form.
