What does L(40) represent? By the way, it takes a lot of effort to read your illustration. Please consider practicing until you know h ow to obtain and share clearer images.

OpenStudy (danjs):

did you get this?

Directrix (directrix):

@baby456 L(40) represents the number of bread loaves that can be made from 40 pounds of flour. Because L(F) = 3*F + 10, then L(40) = 3*40 + 10 = 130 loaves of bread from 40 pounds of flour. I(L) = the income generated from selling L loaves of bread. I ( L ( F ) ) represents the income generated from selling L(F) loaves of bread. I ( L ( F ) ) gives the income generated as a function of the number of pounds of flour, F, that are used. I ( L ( 40 ) ) represents the money made from cooking bread loaves with 40 pounds of flour. That would be I ( L (40 ) ) which equals $780 for 40 pounds of flour.
