OpenStudy (ambyrjadee):

How is sunlight used in photosynthesis?

OpenStudy (leyb):

Plants use a process called photosynthesis to make food. During photosynthesis, plants trap light energy with their leaves. Plants use the energy of the sun to change water and carbon dioxide into a sugar called glucose. Glucose is used by plants for energy and to make other substances like cellulose and starch. Cellulose is used in building cell walls. Starch is stored in seeds and other plant parts as a food source. That's why some foods that we eat, like rice and grains, are packed with starch! source: http://www.nhptv.org/natureworks/nwepphotosynthesis.htm Hope this helped!

OpenStudy (missmeow):

Is not necessarily sunlight that is used, but proton energy that comes from sunlight. The sunlight is used in photosynthesis to make glucose.

OpenStudy (osprey):

slight mis pronunciation with previous post I think. PHOTON, not proton ... methinks.

OpenStudy (osprey):

I won't go into the details if they WERE pRotons ... possibly a rearrangement of the universe ...

OpenStudy (missmeow):

I apologize. I meant the word photon, but my keyboard is broken. I've had to use a speech-to-text app, for the last 3 days. It misheard what I was saying. So I apologize if I didn't make that clear to you, osprey.

OpenStudy (osprey):

And I apologise to you for possibly upsetting you. I know that the word is photon, but, someone else may not. So, I decided to make it clearer. Perhaps I overdid the clarity a tad. I hope that's ok by you MissMeow ... I am a fan of the film "Batman returns" You take care and good journey.

OpenStudy (missmeow):

May your journey be full of Wonder and splendor.
