OpenStudy (campayne):

Use Cramer's rule to solve the system of equations. Write your answer as an ordered pair. Example: (2, -4) x - 2y = -9 3x + y = 1

OpenStudy (mathmate):

@CamPayne Cramer's rule is fun, especially for 2x2's. If you have not yet been exposed to the method, go ahead and read: http://www.coolmath.com/algebra/14-determinants-cramers-rule/01-determinants-cramers-rule-2x2-01 If you already know it, proceed to solve until you get stuck. Post what you have.

OpenStudy (campayne):

i tried and it still aint working

OpenStudy (retireed):

What do you have so far?

OpenStudy (campayne):

(1, -6)

OpenStudy (retireed):

I think you mean 1 - (-6) or 7 for the bottom determinate. Is that what you are trying to show?

OpenStudy (campayne):

well i put 7 also and the thing is not accepting that answer either

OpenStudy (retireed):

No 7 is not the answer to the solution. 7 is the value of the bottom determinate. You still need to find the answer to the upper determinate. It appears you don't understand how to use Cramer's Rule, so I suggest you go study on the link supplied by math mate.

OpenStudy (campayne):

i did! lol
