OpenStudy (jakob):

f a line crosses the y-axis at (0, -4) and has a slope of -2, what is the equation of the line? 2x − y = -4 2x + y = -4 2x + y = 4 2x − y = 4

OpenStudy (tgstudios):

hi @Jakob

OpenStudy (jakob):

Whats going on man

OpenStudy (tgstudios):

not much, this equation is tricky...

OpenStudy (jakob):

Yeah thats why i put it on Openstudy Lol

OpenStudy (tgstudios):

I regreted saying that as soon as I posted it *facepalm*

OpenStudy (jakob):

Lol

OpenStudy (5sos):

OK so all you have to do is plug in the y-intercept and the slope to the equation

OpenStudy (jakob):

How do I do that 5sos?

OpenStudy (tgstudios):

I say sense the first on has all negatives, I would go with that one. The 4 HAS to be negative so that narrows it down to A and B

OpenStudy (5sos):

Do you know slope intercept form?

OpenStudy (jakob):

No I do not and thanks for the hint TG cant do graph if my life is depending on it

OpenStudy (tgstudios):

lol XD graphing stinks

OpenStudy (5sos):

OK slope intercept form is y-mx+b m is the slope and b is the y intercept

OpenStudy (jakob):

5sos Plz speak in english plz

OpenStudy (tgstudios):

y "=" mx + b... just straightening that

OpenStudy (jakob):

ENGLISH!!!

OpenStudy (tgstudios):

that is a formula for math

OpenStudy (jakob):

IK just F***ing with ya

OpenStudy (5sos):

We know both of those It crosses at (0,-4) so that would be your y-intercept. Or b. It has a slope of -2 which also means -2/1 so you would go to the right 2 then up one. SO m is-2

OpenStudy (jakob):

So the answer is B right

OpenStudy (5sos):

So plug in those answer and tell me what you get?

OpenStudy (jakob):

A

OpenStudy (tgstudios):

I would go A, but B could be it too. My answer would be A.

OpenStudy (5sos):

No you were right the first time it would be B!! ^.^

OpenStudy (jakob):

Thanks

OpenStudy (tgstudios):

ok thanks too

OpenStudy (5sos):

You are welcome. Do you have any more?
