OpenStudy (yournightmare):

id say d.

OpenStudy (elise_a18):

OpenStudy (elise_a18):

are sports paid by taxes?

OpenStudy (celinegirl):

A or D

OpenStudy (yournightmare):

its not c. If its a merit good then its A.

OpenStudy (elise_a18):

a merit good is different than a public good. I know it's not A or b

jimthompson5910 (jim_thompson5910):

you could argue education is a public good. It would depend on what kind of education. If it's K12 education, then that's paid for by tax dollars (assuming we're talking about a public school). Though there are private schools that don't get tax dollars to operate D is more accurate of a public good because people pay taxes to pay firefighters to protect their homes. Some pay more than others. Some people don't pay at all, but they still get fire protection.

OpenStudy (elise_a18):

ahh okey so it's nonexcludable and nonrrival hen

jimthompson5910 (jim_thompson5910):

`professional sports teams` is NOT a public good because you have to pay money to a private organization (the sports teams owners) and it's not supported by tax dollars Yes sometimes they do receive money from the government to build things like stadiums, but in general, they rely on ticket sales, tv deals, etc

OpenStudy (elise_a18):

Thanks! D was correct!

jimthompson5910 (jim_thompson5910):

no problem
