Using the scientific equation GPE= m * 9.8m/s^2* h It's 10 kg (m), with 9.8m/s, times 1 meter (the h), how do I solve/multiply: 10 kg* 9.8 m/s^2* 1 meter= ? This is also a science question.

OpenStudy (mangotangochick):

GPE = mgh GPE = (10kg)(9.8)(1) = 98 Joules

OpenStudy (alexatiger):

Ooooh! I was just trying to figure out how to put all the phrases and junk, that's a lot simpler XD

OpenStudy (mangotangochick):

The potential energy: GPE = mgh Which is also similar to: WD = Fs Because (m x g) gives you a force in newtons, where s is the displacement (height) in metres.

OpenStudy (mangotangochick):

Yeah! Just remember the basic equations and you'll be fine. I suggest trying to see how the equations relate to each other - that makes them easier to remember if you ever forget.

OpenStudy (alexatiger):

Alrighty, thank you!
