Well, for A, try thinking how a the shape would end up in that position. Obviously it needs a rotation. Around where? Does it also need a translation?

OpenStudy (narissa):

Rotation around the x-axis I think it might need a translation as well but I'm not good at this kind of geometry.

OpenStudy (sapphiremoon):

Well, generally we rotate around points and reflect across axes. But I agree that it should be rotated around the origin. But a 90 degree rotation, while it orients the figure properly, leaves the top corner at (-3, -1) instead of (-1, -1) So we also need a translation.

OpenStudy (narissa):

That all right? What about b? How do I do that?

OpenStudy (narissa):

That is all right*

OpenStudy (sapphiremoon):

I don't really know what that sentence means, but we did agree on a 90 degree counterclockwise rotation about the origin (0, 0) and a translation to the right from (-3, -1) to (-1, -1).

OpenStudy (narissa):

oh okay im going to post the 2nd one again and see if anyone can help

OpenStudy (sapphiremoon):

Mkay.
