OpenStudy (mtalhahassan2):

yes

OpenStudy (irishboy123):

go B!!!

OpenStudy (mtalhahassan2):

are you sure?

OpenStudy (irishboy123):

nah wait for @osprey

OpenStudy (mtalhahassan2):

k

OpenStudy (irishboy123):

i'm waiting for Osprey meanwhile, which is your answer?

OpenStudy (irishboy123):

@MTALHAHASSAN2 ?!?!

OpenStudy (mtalhahassan2):

i also think it's b but not sure

OpenStudy (osprey):

a pot is a VARIABLE RESISTOR. I think that the CENTRAL TERMINAL is the one that "taps off" resistance. The two end ones, have a constant resistance between them I THINK I'm a bit slow, Shamrock. http://perendis.webs.com

OpenStudy (osprey):

I cannot be sure when typing into an expletive keyboard. BUT, a "simple" test would be to "AVO meter" - or some resistance measurer - across the ends and turn the knob .... NOWT should happen to the resistance. Then tap across from one outside terminal to the centre one and the resistance should vary. IF i'm right. If I'm wrong, please aim any harpoons at one of the two US people ... pref the "tall" one ... ahem (sorry about that)

OpenStudy (mtalhahassan2):

@osprey so basically you are saying c?

OpenStudy (osprey):

IF it decodes to C then yes. But the post is no miles away from the typing box ! Shamrock seems to nod. Risk it with the resistance meter (once called an AVO meter for "AmpsVoltsOhms") I don't think that anything will explode .. but don't sue me perleeeeeease.

OpenStudy (osprey):

ps I suspect you'd for sure find out if you tried b. I'd go to prod the avo as said, and MAKE A NOTE of what I find 'cos it's v easy to get v muddled doing these things. Look at most of the posts on this site, including this one.

OpenStudy (irishboy123):

so gooooo!!

OpenStudy (mtalhahassan2):

thanks a lot @osprey

OpenStudy (osprey):

bravo @IrishBoy123 ps I think that for AVO you could also read "DVM" which is Digital VoltMeter which has a resistance measuring thingamy on it, and, as with the AVO it needs a battery - what doesn't these days ?
