Can you change the mass of an object by running towards it?

oh my heaven ... i guess it depends on how fit you are for any DETECTABLE mass change. 'cos this looks like another spec relativity q, somewhat disguised. However, I guess that for any change at all, then, I'd have to say yes. Relative motion has an effect on mass - hence the term "rest mass" - so that if something is moving AND IS SEEN BY FIXED observer, it's "mass" has increase (by one part in however small you can write it, possibly). As far as I know that does NOT mean that the thing has got "extra bits" on it, it "just" means that there's a change needed in mass now called "mass energy"
