OpenStudy (thuff40):

You are going to your IPod to download music. THe program costs you $10 for the application fee +$1.50 a download per song. THis month you have at most $37 to spend on on music. Write the inequality and find the most number of songs you can download.

OpenStudy (maddielb):

What are your thoughts?

OpenStudy (thuff40):

Well I dont know how to write the inequality but I do know that you could download 18 songs total

OpenStudy (maddielb):

How'd you figure that out?

OpenStudy (thuff40):

Well you have $37 total and then a $10 fee so now your down to $27 So at $1.50 a song, it comes out to 18 songs

OpenStudy (maddielb):

Okay, now, if its 1.50/song then you would have part of the inequality saying 1.50s right?

OpenStudy (thuff40):

ok

OpenStudy (maddielb):

And to even start all of this there is a fee of $10, so it would be the initial fee (10) plus what ever it is per song (1.50), which would be 10+1.50s.

OpenStudy (maddielb):

And since the most you can spend is $37, it would be 10+1.50s is less than or equal to 37

OpenStudy (maddielb):

You understanding what I am saying?

OpenStudy (thuff40):

Ohhh yeah. That makes sense

OpenStudy (maddielb):

Okay good

OpenStudy (thuff40):

THank you!

OpenStudy (maddielb):

You're welcome :)
