OpenStudy (nautika22):

Terms whose variables are the same are called what?

563blackghost (563blackghost):

Terms that have variables that are the same are called like terms. Ex. `8x and 5x are like terms` Ex2. `5x^2 and 7x^2 are like terms`

OpenStudy (nautika22):

i have one more question

OpenStudy (nautika22):

What are Opposite Operations (Inverse Operations)?

563blackghost (563blackghost):

Opposite Operations are values that will cancel each other out. Addition and Subtraction are opposite, while as multiplication and division are opposites. Ex. `5 added to -5, 5's opposite is -5 which will result in 0. 5 + -5 = 0` Ex. ` 3 multiplied by 1/3. 3's opposite is 1/3 (division wise) which will result in 1. 3 x 1/3 = 1`

563blackghost (563blackghost):

Excuse me, that was the wrong definition though the examples are correct. `Inverse operations are operations that 'undo' each other.` Now that's a bit more accurate.

OpenStudy (nautika22):

thank you
