Welcome to Openstudy! <3 Tundras are cold regions. Deserts are hot. Lizards are able to thrive in desert regions because they are able to excrete uric acid, which requires little water to produce compared to urea. The hot desert temperature allows lizards to be active since they rely on the environment for their body heat. The tundra is not a good habitat for lizards because it is just too cold for them to reach their optimum body temperature, even if they spend a lot of time basking in the sun.
