area is in metres squared, volume is in metres cubed area is two dimensional, volume is three dimensional I don't understand the wording of the final one. (The grammar looks pretty ropey to me)

Areas if I were going to paint a wall and needed to know how many tins per square metre I'd need. Volume if I wanted to know whether something would sink of float in a physics problem But these are wild guesses, 'cos the q doesn't make sense to me, AS IT IS WRITTEN. Regrets.
