Evaluate the integral

OpenStudy (thatonegirl_):

\[I=\int\limits_{1}^{4} \sqrt{x} (3+\frac{ 2 }{ x }) dx\]

OpenStudy (sweetburger):

Ok so what I would do is start by distributing the sqrt(x) to form \[I=\int\limits_{1}^{4}3\sqrt{x}+\frac{ 2 }{ \sqrt{x} }dx\]

OpenStudy (thatonegirl_):

ooo so would u=sqrt x ?

OpenStudy (thatonegirl_):

oh wait would i even need to use u-substitution if i did it this way??

OpenStudy (sweetburger):

I dont think you need to use u-subs for this.

OpenStudy (thatonegirl_):

okay thanks :)

OpenStudy (sweetburger):

MIght work anyways though, but i didnt try it
