OpenStudy (triciaal):

OpenStudy (bella4321):

Thanks I understand the meanings of the kinds of sentences little more now. So lets start with the first one I was thinking as a compound. It has more ideas I think. 1-go hiking 2-go to the lake.. am I right?

OpenStudy (bella4321):

or are those ideas not main ideas?

OpenStudy (triciaal):

correct joined by a coordinating conjunction

OpenStudy (bella4321):

Ok thanks @triciaal. Okay for the second. I also think that's a compound cause two ideas are connected 1- read a magazine or 2-get some books

OpenStudy (bella4321):

I have to make sure this is correct cause this is a question from my semester. Not trying to get a direct answer from someone but at least help to get an answer not to guess haha :)

OpenStudy (triciaal):

"A complex sentence is composed of one independent clause with one or more subordinate clauses". From the Bedford Handbook 6th edition Glad you understand more now. you are welcome.
