OpenStudy (mathmate):

I suppose you refer to vertical asymptote. Symptom is what a patient tells a doctor what he/she feels abnormal about health. Vertical asymptotes are typically found when the denominator of a rational function becomes zero. In the case of a log function, the vertical asymptote is found when the argument of the log function is zero. For example, if g(x)=log(bx+c)+h the g(x) has a vertical asymptote when (bx+c)=0. Apply this to your given problem and you'd find the value of x for which there is a vertical asymptote.
