The mean is the same as the `average`. Here is an example of taking an average: If Bobby is 12 years old, and Suzy is 14 years old, then their average age is 13 years old. We take the sum of their ages and then divide by the number of ages we added together. (12+14)/2 = 13
So to find the average tree age, add all of the ages together, then divide by the number of values you added (in this case 5).

so the mean would be 9 or 9.2
