Write an equation in slope-intercept form of the line that passes through the given point and is parallel to the graph of the given equation. (−8,−8); y=−3x+5 Write an equation for the line in slope-intercept form.
first of all parallel lines have the same slope you have y=-3x+5 standard slope intercept form is y=mx+b where m is the slope, b is the intercept this means that m=-3 y=-3x+b we know that the line passes through (-8,-8) where a coordinate is written (x,y) so this means that x=-8, y=-8 so substitute these values into y=-3x+b to get -8=-3(-8)+b solve for b then write write out y=-3x+b, but substitute b for whatever value you got before
I don't mena to sound rude, but I need the answer. I do understand it better though @amorfide
if you understand it you will attempt it or finish off what I have given direct answers are against the rules, considering this is a place to help people learn, not to help people cheat
