Could I help you?

OpenStudy (mathmate):

@Kristen_.. In general, the translation of a parent function f(x) to g(x) is done as follows: g(x)=f(x-h)+k translates to the right by h, and up by k. That is to say, replace x of the parent function by x-h, and add k to the function to get g(x). Example: translate \(f(x)=1/x^2\) 8.5 units to the left, and 3 units up then h=-8.5, k=3, \(g(x)=f(x-(-8.5))+3=f(x+8.5)+3=1/(x+8.5)^2+3\)

OpenStudy (3mar):

I think this would help you.

Thank you for good explanation. That is Awesome!

Thank you everyone! :)
