how to solve a quadratic equation

OpenStudy (jiteshmeghwal9):

ax^2+bx+c=0 is a quadratic equation then the roots of this eqn are \[\frac{-b \pm \sqrt{b^2-4ac}}{2a}\] Here a, b, c are real numbers & a \(\ne\) 0

OpenStudy (safyousuff97):

thank you

OpenStudy (jiteshmeghwal9):

If the equation is factor able then u may write above equation as a(x-\(\alpha\)) (x-\(\beta \))=0 where alpha & beta are its roots

OpenStudy (jiteshmeghwal9):

yw

OpenStudy (mathmale):

You could also approx. the roots (solutions) by sketching the graph of the given quadratic.
