Using the background information you have about the Middle Ages, explain how you think the Kings, Churches, and the Crusades are related. @Awolflover1 help
Hi @helpernow
Hi @likeabossssssss
Considering the middle ages occured from 500 - early 1400's, you can argue that 1_ After the Fall of Rome, led the rise of nation-states of areas making their own countries, each having a monarchy to reign over (with certain exceptions, but it was most countries based on it) 2_ Churches became a heavy part of the middle ages as the church was an influence over the legitimacy of a monarchy (they legitimised rules as people from God, approved of marriages which kings needed to make alliances), as well as making the staple of education during that time (scholasticism such as St. Augustine, St. Thomas). This was the golden age of Christendom in Europe 3_ Crusades were a period of events that led to the prevention of Muslim invasions and to the fall back as we saw that the Church (more specifically Pope Gregory) was able to unite Kings in order to fight off Muslim nations such as the Ugayan empire, the moors, reclaim christian land and capture Jerusalem.
hi ^^
Thanks @helpernow I appreciate all the helpful information, but I would like to know how they are all related.
Hmmm, To make it more simple Kings need the Church to legitimize their rule, the Church needs the Kings to continue with keeping their churches safe, their christian members safe, which led to the crusades of reclaiming Christian territories.
Oh, I get it thanks so much for the help @helpernow :)
No problem, If you ever have more questions on history, let me know. :D
