OpenStudy (twdlover23):

Suppose you increase your walking speed from 4 m/s to 15 m/s in a period of 1 s. What is your acceleration? answer:______m/s^2

OpenStudy (blazeryder):

Take a look at this: http://www.physicsclassroom.com/class/1DKin/Lesson-1/Acceleration If you need more help, just tag me! =)

OpenStudy (mrnood):

another extremely badly asked question 15m/s is 33 mph - no one can WALK at that speed

OpenStudy (blazeryder):

I do agree with you @MrNood I think they just make these for practice but still, at least say a cheetah.

OpenStudy (irishboy123):

:-)) i'd roll with \(a = \dfrac{\Delta v}{\Delta t } = \dfrac{15 - 4}{1} \) And then get angry about stuff.

OpenStudy (trojanpoem):

xD

OpenStudy (mrnood):

there was a recent one saying that a candy store had 10^18 candy bars and another a while back asking how fast you'd need to jump from a 200ft high balcony to reach a swimming pool (it didn't ask by how much your spine would be compressed in the process!) These things make it seem that the purpose of learning maths is to solve maths questions, rather than as a tool to real world calculations

OpenStudy (trojanpoem):

Trolo, 10^18 candy bars
