OpenStudy (bluesmile):

What is the equation of the line shown in the graph? https://static.k12.com/nextgen_media/assets/8080313-NG_IMC_E_08_U04_Quiz_02.png Write the equation in standard form.

OpenStudy (eliesaab):

Does y change on that line?

OpenStudy (sneyzy):

The slope on the graph doesn't change what so ever, so y is going to be a constant number that will never change.

563blackghost (563blackghost):

Due to the fact that the line is horizontal this equation has a 0 slope. So x will not be included due to the fact the slope `(which is 0 in this case)` is multiplied by x `(since anything multiplied by 0 equals 0 we will not include the x variable)`. We see that the line goes through the point `-3` which would be the y-intercept. So our equation is going to be \(\large\bf{y=-3}\).
