The last time Miss Walker’s car tank was filled, the odometer reading was 7,998 miles. The next time she had to fill up her vehicle, the odometer reading was 8,308. It took 10 gallons to fill the tank. What was Miss Walker’s miles per gallon for the driving period?
You may have received help a bit faster had you posted your question in Mathematiccs, but I can still help you here (as long as you promise to post your question in the right section next time). :P Okay, so to begin, subtract 7,998 from 8,308. What are you left with?
318
@Whitemonsterbunny17
318? I'm not sure how you're getting that, haha. Maybe try it again.
I subtracted what u said lol.
subtract 7,998 from 8,308
310 i mean sorry did it wrong.
Typed it wrong i mean.
Oh, okay, 310 is correct. So then all we have to do to find the mpg (miles per gallon) is divide 310 by 10 (the number of gallons that filled the tank). What number do you get?
31
That's right. :)
cool so thats what i put as the answer:)?
Thanks :)
Yep! Some teachers are picky about the answer being in a complete sentence though, so if that's the case, you may want to do so.
