Please help ASAP What kind of sentences are the following: 1)A passport is not currently necessary for residents of the United States or Canada crossing the border, but one may be required in the near future. 2)Thousands of US and Canadian citizens cross the border every day to shop, work, travel, and visit.

OpenStudy (otherworldly):

1) Declarative 2) Declarative

OpenStudy (juan1857):

Sorry but I was referring to simple, compound, complex, and compound complex. @OtherWorldly

OpenStudy (otherworldly):

Now these two sentences are obviously not simple sentences so lets ignore that....

OpenStudy (otherworldly):

For compound sentences there should be a coma and but or so <<stuff like that.....do u see that in any of the sentences above?

OpenStudy (juan1857):

yup the 1st one

OpenStudy (otherworldly):

OpenStudy (otherworldly):

OpenStudy (otherworldly):

complex sentences has aaawwubbis or relative pronouns at the beginning or middle. Do you know what both are?

OpenStudy (juan1857):

OpenStudy (otherworldly):

aaawwubbis is an abbreviation sooo it stands for A = After A = Although A = As W = While W = When U = Until B = Because B = Before I = If S = Since

OpenStudy (otherworldly):

OpenStudy (juan1857):

OpenStudy (juan1857):

OpenStudy (otherworldly):

Great happy to help.... :) so do you think the second sentence is a complex sentence

OpenStudy (otherworldly):

??

OpenStudy (juan1857):

I don't think it is

OpenStudy (otherworldly):

correct

OpenStudy (otherworldly):

so if the second sentence isnt compound or complex...well of course it cant be compound complex XD i wasnt paying attention at the beginning one of the sentences can be simple and since the first one is a compound sentence then......
