OpenStudy (hhlppleasevv):

Can you always use synthetic division for dividing polynomials? Can you explain?

OpenStudy (tkhunny):

Yes, but division by anything besides linear factors is quite tedious. Yes, but without noticing that you are also simply evaluating the polynomial, you are not quite getting the whole impact of the method.

OpenStudy (hhlppleasevv):

If the factor is greater than 1 can you still use that?

OpenStudy (hhlppleasevv):

degree*

OpenStudy (tkhunny):

That's what I was trying to tell you in my first point. A linear factor is a factor of Degree 1. Anything else might work out for you, but it is generally thought to be not worth the effort.

OpenStudy (hhlppleasevv):

Thank you
