commutative property of addition means that you can add stuff in any order a+b=b+a or a+b+c= a+c+b= c+a+b etc

associative property of addition means that the order of addition or the way you group stuff to do first doesnt matter, ONLY WHEN DEALING WITH JUST ADDITION ex. (a+b)+c = a+(b+c)
