When you are writing a sentence or a paragraph, you need to use proper capitalization. You need to capitalize Peoples' names, names of mountains, lakes, rivers, etc., names of buildings, names of streets, the name of a school, continents, countries, regions, cities, and states, titles of books and other things such as newspapers and articles, the first letter of the sentence, and last of all, you need to capitalize the letter 'I'.

Next, you need to learn about Questions, Statements, and commands. A question is used when you ask something, for example 'Who stole the cookies?' and 'How is that possible?', questions always have questions marks (?) at the end.

Statements are just regular sentences that are stating something, they always end with periods.

A command is used when you tell someone to do something else. It can end with a period, and it can also end with an exclamation mark. For example, 'Please take out the trash.' and 'Call the police!'.

Here's a fast tip to improve your grammar: You only use 'an' before words that start with a vowel, and you use 'a' with words whose letter (that isn't a vowel) starts with any word that doesn't start with a vowel. For example, 'He is a great athlete' and 'That is an old automobile.

When improving your grammar, you need to learn about colons. The first type of colon is just a regular colon, it is used before a list or before an explanation. For example, 'These are the people that will participate: John, Kathy, Bill, and Mike.' The second type of colon is called the semicolon, it's used when you are talking about something else in the same sentence/phrase. For example, You can bring one toy; however, there are no more building blocks left.'

When using parentheses, you need to enclose information that clarifies. For example, After 2 weeks, he finally paid his rent ($1400).

When using brackets, you must know that they are interruptions in a sentence/phrase. They are also added by someone else. For example, "Four score and seven [today we'd say eighty-seven] years ago..."

When you use Apostrophes, you use possession, and you use Quotation Marks when someone is talking.

A verb is the action of the sentence, it can be used when you're writing, playing, or throwing something.

An adjective is used to describe a noun, it can be colors, saying something good or bad about something or someone else.

A pronoun is a word that can function by itself as a noun. For example, 'I, me, he, she, herself, you, it, that, they, each, few, many, who, whoever, whose, someone, everybody, etc.'

An adverb can be a phrase or a word that modifies as another adverb, an adjective or a verb. For example, 'gently, quite, then, there'.
