OpenStudy (sugardemonhunters):

Not asking for the direct answer- just need to know how to solve problems like this Find the slope of a line that passes through (-2, -3) and (1,1).

OpenStudy (wanell):

y1-x1 y2-x2 do that

OpenStudy (hannansm):

m= (y1-y1)/(x1-x2)

OpenStudy (avi13):

Tan(Theta)=(y2-y1)/(x2-x1)

OpenStudy (hannansm):

which is 1 and which is 2 are arbitrary. the answer would be the same as long as you're consistent with your labeling.

OpenStudy (sugardemonhunters):

So all I have to do is plug in the numbers and subtract which will give me my answer?

OpenStudy (hannansm):

yep! keep in mind that slope is literally rise over run.

OpenStudy (hannansm):

so you have to get the quotient of the difference in the rise over the difference in the run

OpenStudy (sugardemonhunters):

Thank you both so much! (:
