First, you need to figure out what kind of equation you are dealing with. Will these points give you a straight line or not? You can graph the points to confirm whether or not they are part of a straight line. You can also do this. Notice the difference between each two consecutive x-coordinates. From -2 to 0, it's a difference of 2. From 0 to 2, it's a difference of 2. From 2 to 4 , it's a difference of 2. Now look at the difference between consecutive y-coordinates. From 0 to 2, it's a difference of 2. From 2 to 4, it's a difference of 2. From 4 to 6 , it's a difference of 2. Ok so far?
