PLEASE HELP ME! I don't get this stuff at all... is (3,-5) on the line y = -2x + 1? show all of your work.

OpenStudy (miss_skeelo):

@triciaal

OpenStudy (candy13106):

ok so (3,5) is the same as (x,y) so u would plug in 3 for all x's and -5 for y and solve

OpenStudy (miss_skeelo):

i'm so confused... :/

OpenStudy (miamoorz):

(x,y) so you have x=3, y =-5 plug them in y=-2x+1

OpenStudy (yanasidlinskiy):

You know how your coordinate is (3,-5)?? Your x would be 3 and your -5 would be y... Does that make sense?

OpenStudy (miss_skeelo):

yea

OpenStudy (yanasidlinskiy):

Ok so your equation is: y=-2x+1.. All you have to do is plug in your coordinates.. Like from the points into the equation so it'd look like this:|dw:1480972249015:dw|
