http://edssmcr3ui.pbworks.com/f/Trig%20Functions%20-%20Exercise%20Handout%201.pdf Hi, can someone explain how to do 7h? It's the question about the pump. Thanks in advance

satellite73 (satellite73):

which part?

satellite73 (satellite73):

oh i see h did you get the period of the function?

OpenStudy (rida34):

@satellite73 yeah I got the period, it's 8 I believe

satellite73 (satellite73):

ok let me check

satellite73 (satellite73):

yeah, look like 8 from your eyeballs so every 8 units the function repeats

satellite73 (satellite73):

at 1 it is the same as 9, 17, 25, 33, 41, etc etc

satellite73 (satellite73):

now you want it at 62 right?

OpenStudy (rida34):

Right

satellite73 (satellite73):

what is the remainder when you divide 62 by 8?

OpenStudy (rida34):

It's 7.75

satellite73 (satellite73):

oh i mean the integer remainder as is 8 goes in to 62 whatever times with a remainder of blank

OpenStudy (rida34):

It goes into 62 7 times with a remainder of .75?

satellite73 (satellite73):

8 goes in to 62 7 times right? what is the remainder? what is left over when you divide ?

satellite73 (satellite73):

you know like in elementary school, 4 goes in to 22 5 times with a remainder of 2 for example

OpenStudy (rida34):

Right, it's 6

satellite73 (satellite73):

ok right so now all you need is to evaluate the function at 6

satellite73 (satellite73):

because it is periodic, it will be the same at 6, 6+8, 6+2*8, 6+3*8, ... 6+7*8 = 62

OpenStudy (rida34):

Ohh That makes so much more sense Thank you so much
