here it is

OpenStudy (itrymath):

@mathmale

OpenStudy (mathmale):

Share your initial thoughts, please.

OpenStudy (itrymath):

i did, its in the picture

OpenStudy (itrymath):

i think A

OpenStudy (mathmale):

Are you using either SAS or ASA? or AAA?

OpenStudy (itrymath):

oh

OpenStudy (itrymath):

SSS

OpenStudy (itrymath):

i think

OpenStudy (itrymath):

im pretty sure its SSS

OpenStudy (mathmale):

But we've been talking about similarity or congruence of angles, not of sides. I haven't looked at the last 3 possible answers carefully, but am beginning to agree with A.

OpenStudy (itrymath):

i have no idea how to explain , im just looking at it and it makes sense

OpenStudy (itrymath):

and then C makes a little sense but im torn between

OpenStudy (mathmale):

sorry, I've been on my computer most of the day and am clearly slowing down from exhaustion. The problem does not mention ASA, SAS, AAA or other such means of showing congruency. That doesn't mean that you can avoid referring to and/or using one or more of those.

OpenStudy (mathmale):

Let me look at C for a moment.

OpenStudy (mathmale):

Sorry, my thinking is becoming slower by the moment. Please note that angles BHG and ICH are equal because they are vertical angles meeting at point H. That takes care of those 2 angles. If you can now show that another angle in both these little triangles are also congruent. then maybe you'll have enuf reason to choose ASA. I don't think SAS applies here because we've been talking primarily about angles, not sides.

OpenStudy (itrymath):

okay

OpenStudy (itrymath):

you can leave if you need too

OpenStudy (mathmale):

I'm afraid I do need to get to bed. Not your fault, of course.

OpenStudy (itrymath):

i alays take up your time, so you might as well leave

OpenStudy (itrymath):

lol its fine....!

OpenStudy (mathmale):

Best of luck to you. Maybe take a break and then come back to this problem for a 2nd look.

OpenStudy (itrymath):

goodnight and best of luck!!!
