OpenStudy (mikayla):

Why do plants cells have chloroplasts while animals cells do not?

OpenStudy (sooobored):

id imagine due to the countless years of evolution some cells way back when decided to consume ancestral chloroplast and use that as a means to generate energy whereas the rest of the cells got their energy by deconstructing(eating) its surrounding cells or maybe cells ate ancestral chloroplast and couldnt digest it and eventually evolved to a point where it could use it as an energy source who knows?

OpenStudy (wanell):

plant cells that contain chlorophyll and help with the process of photosynthesis. Like mitochondria, chloroplasts have their own DNA.

OpenStudy (wanell):

Animal cells don't have chloroplasts because animals aren't green plants. Chloroplasts are organelles
