OpenStudy (madison.scott):

how do you calculate acceleration

OpenStudy (moneyking):

Rearrange the equation F = ma to solve for acceleration. You can change this formula around to solve for acceleration by dividing both sides by the mass, so: a = F/m. To find the acceleration, simply divide the force by the mass of the object being accelerated.

OpenStudy (nnumesi):

a = Force(Newtons)/Mass (Grams) a = Velocity / time a = Velocity (meters/seconds) / Time (seconds) a = m/s^2 So, the acceleration is the change in the velocity, divided by the time. Acceleration has a magnitude (a value) and a direction. The direction of the acceleration does not have to be the same as the direction of the velocity. The units for acceleration are meters per second squared (m/s2).
