help with crazy slopes

OpenStudy (welshfella):

Check corresponding angles For example is m<BCD = m < IJK?

OpenStudy (welshfella):

If not then the 2 figures are not similar.

Kindly do not ask for "private message" responses. sounds as tho' you have something to hide. As an OpenStudy moderator, I choose not to permit this. If you want help, ask for it in public, here, and expect to receive replies in public, here, not as private messages.

OpenStudy (mathmale):

Look at sides BC and IJ. Do these 2 sides seem to have the same slope? True, no numbers, but the two figures are plotted on a grid, and you can determine the length of these sides by counting the number of units on the grid.

OpenStudy (welshfella):

You can see that they are not equal by checking them against the grid in the background

OpenStudy (mathmale):

To get from B to C, you go 2 units to the right and one unit up. But to get from I to J, you go 1 unit to the right and 1 unit up. Thus, the slopes of those 2 line segments are different.

OpenStudy (welshfella):

Yes the slopes are different so the angles are different.
