Which geologic feature occurs at a convergent boundary? A. An ocean ridge B. an earthquake C. An aperture D. A rill

OpenStudy (harman.singh):

B. an earthquake "Effects of a convergent boundary between an oceanic and continental plate include: a zone of earthquake activity that is shallow along the continent margin but deepens beneath the continent.." Source: Geology.com

OpenStudy (osprey):

Which geologic feature occurs at a convergent boundary? I'd go for the key word "feature" here. I'd say that an earthquake was an event. I'd say that events were transients, albeit dramatic ones. A feature is something long term. If convergence means/implies "coming together", then when billions of tons of earth come together, there's going to be some sort of distortion. If this happens under water, then there'd presumably be a ridge formed along the line of the meeting. I don't know what an aperture is, nor a rill. I associate "apertures" with "holes". The cop out clause in my ocean argument is that it would have to be under an ocean. What then, if things happened anywhere ... ocean or otherwise. So, I'd go for either A or D.

OpenStudy (bugman954):

A rill is a small stream, converge means to come together, this results in an excess of material and therefore: A. An ocean ridge @harman.singh an earthquake is an event, not a feature.
