OpenStudy (mason1011163):

. Permeability is the condition of being capable of having materials flow into and out of a membrane. The permeability of a cell membrane is determined by how easily a molecule can diffuse across the membrane. Usually, only molecules that are fat-soluble can permeate across a cell membrane. Why is this the case? Cell membranes are composed of a lipid bilayer. Water-soluble molecules are nonpolar. Water-soluble molecules are too large. Cell membranes are composed of cytosol.

option A Cell membranes are composed of a phospholipid bilayer, generally hydrophobic (water repelling). https://ka-perseus-images.s3.amazonaws.com/26ffb8e955fba1897b562cb0b93e8cadf621dfc5.png
