Quick help with a question? (MEDAL + FAN)

OpenStudy (coacoapuffprincess):

ujm

OpenStudy (coacoapuffprincess):

Im not sure...

OpenStudy (sunnnystrong):

Recall that: Inverse Variation: \[y=\frac{ k }{ x }\] Direct Variation: \[y=kx\]

OpenStudy (xetsdoittt):

ok continue please.. could u walk me through it?

OpenStudy (sunnnystrong):

Yeah sure :D It would be my pleasure

OpenStudy (sunnnystrong):

So: We can find k by multiplying the x-coordinate by the y-coordinate ---> (5,2) --> k=10 (10,1) ---> k=10 (15, 2/3) --> k=10

OpenStudy (xetsdoittt):

so \[2=\frac{ 10 }{ 5 }\]

OpenStudy (sunnnystrong):

@XetsDoIttt yep. It's going to be inverse variation :D

OpenStudy (sunnnystrong):

Just find k and figure out what type of relationship (direct or inverse) happens between the values

OpenStudy (sunnnystrong):

\[y=\frac{ 10 }{ x }\] y varies inversely with x
