OpenStudy (maddielb):
I do not agree with your answer for the first question
OpenStudy (emoniplaysstudy):
for num 3?
OpenStudy (emoniplaysstudy):
is num 3 a
OpenStudy (maddielb):

What work are you doing for this, you seem to be guessing now
OpenStudy (emoniplaysstudy):
i multiplied the fractions and i got b
OpenStudy (maddielb):
Seems like you didnt make the mixed number into a fraction
OpenStudy (maddielb):
Do you know how to do that
OpenStudy (emoniplaysstudy):
olk

OpenStudy (emoniplaysstudy):
is 5 C right
?
OpenStudy (maddielb):
I havent even done 5 yet, Im trying to work with you on 3 lol
OpenStudy (emoniplaysstudy):
ok so i have to make the mixed number into a fraction ok
OpenStudy (maddielb):
Yes
OpenStudy (maddielb):
Do you know how to do that

OpenStudy (emoniplaysstudy):
yea
OpenStudy (emoniplaysstudy):
8/5?
OpenStudy (maddielb):
Yes
OpenStudy (maddielb):
Now multiply across
OpenStudy (emoniplaysstudy):
what do i need to multiply across from 3/4?

OpenStudy (maddielb):
What do you mean? You would multiply the numerators together and the denominators together. So 8 * 5 and 5*4
OpenStudy (emoniplaysstudy):
ok
OpenStudy (emoniplaysstudy):
8 x 5 is 40 for the numerator and 20 is for the demoninators?
OpenStudy (maddielb):
Oops oops, I made a mistake right there, it would be 8*3 and 5*4
OpenStudy (maddielb):
Not 8*5

OpenStudy (emoniplaysstudy):
so 8/3 20?
OpenStudy (emoniplaysstudy):
i mean 24
OpenStudy (maddielb):
Yes
OpenStudy (maddielb):
So 24/20, how many times does 20 go into 24
OpenStudy (emoniplaysstudy):
Do i have to simplify

OpenStudy (maddielb):
Well 20 goes into 24 once, so it would be 1 */*
OpenStudy (emoniplaysstudy):
so its c?
OpenStudy (maddielb):
Yes
OpenStudy (maddielb):
Alright for number 2, what did you get
OpenStudy (emoniplaysstudy):
D

OpenStudy (maddielb):
Yep
OpenStudy (maddielb):
And the third one?
OpenStudy (emoniplaysstudy):
we did num 3 already
OpenStudy (maddielb):
5 I mean, third one on the list of these questions
OpenStudy (emoniplaysstudy):
ok num 5 c?

OpenStudy (maddielb):
I would agree with you with the math to get 63, but it says descending so that leads me to go with -63 instead of 63
OpenStudy (emoniplaysstudy):
oh yea!
OpenStudy (emoniplaysstudy):
and for num 4?
OpenStudy (maddielb):
Didnt we do number 4?
OpenStudy (maddielb):
1 1/4? D?

OpenStudy (emoniplaysstudy):
no
OpenStudy (maddielb):
Oh, that was the one I was talking about when I said #2
OpenStudy (maddielb):
Alright, I was confused, thought we did that one
OpenStudy (maddielb):
So you need to change the mixed number to a fraction again

OpenStudy (emoniplaysstudy):
ok
OpenStudy (emoniplaysstudy):
10/17
OpenStudy (maddielb):
Yep
OpenStudy (maddielb):
So multiply the numerators and denominators again
OpenStudy (emoniplaysstudy):
uh 170 is numerator

OpenStudy (maddielb):
170? o.o
OpenStudy (maddielb):
Where'd that come from
OpenStudy (emoniplaysstudy):
its 10/17 so i multiply 10 x he numerator
OpenStudy (maddielb):
Oh wait, no its 10/7 not 17
OpenStudy (emoniplaysstudy):
so 10 x 7 cuz 7 is the numerator

OpenStudy (emoniplaysstudy):
70?
OpenStudy (maddielb):
Yes
OpenStudy (emoniplaysstudy):
then denomniator
OpenStudy (maddielb):
And then 7*8
OpenStudy (emoniplaysstudy):
56

OpenStudy (maddielb):
Yep so 70/56 What is left after 56 goes into 70
OpenStudy (emoniplaysstudy):
uh i have to simplify?
OpenStudy (maddielb):
Itll be 1 14/56 = 1 2/8 = 1 1/4
OpenStudy (maddielb):
So D is your answer
OpenStudy (emoniplaysstudy):
ok thanks
